TROJA CASTLE

The Troja Castle (U Trojskeho zamku 1, Prague 7 - Troja) is located in Prague quarter Troja opposite to the ZOO main entrance. The garden belonging to the castle reaches almost to Vltava River.

The unique Baroque villa of Italian type was bulilt by count VĂĄclav Adalbert from Stemberk between 1679 and 1685.
Expositions:
Permanent exposition "Czech Art in the 19th Century" - a large collection of pieces by Václav Božík and Jaroslav Čermák. Interior decor by Francesco and Giovanni Marchetti from Trident, illusive paintings in the main hall by Flemish painters Abraham and Isac Godyn. Baroque staircase Jiří and Pavel Hermann from Dresden. Italian garden and Early-Baroque garden nursery with a labyrinth host a European unique collection of terracotta vases, busts and alegorical figures by Italian Bombelli.

The expositions are open for public:
May – October – daily 10-18 (with the exception of Monday)
November – April – during weekends 10-17
The castle can be visited individually or with a guide. Sightseeing duration 90 mins. Ticket office closes 60 mins before the closing hour.
