THE PRAGUE CASTLE

This famous castle dominates the whole city because of its situation on a hill next to Petri­n ,that´s why getting there from Mala Strana (Lower part) can be quite exhausting. Keep in mind that you take the Old castle´s staircase and a nice view will be a reward. Otherwise, it is the place where the head of Czech countries has had office since ever.Now, we speak about the president, before, Czech kings or Holy Roman emperors.The crown jewels of the Bohemian Kingdom are kept there.Unfortunately, they are possible to be seen just once a couple of years.

In the complex of the Prague Castle there is placed famous St. Vitus Cathedral (KatedrĂĄla svatĂŠho VĂ­ta).Containing the tombs of many Bohemian kings, this cathedral is an excellent example of Gothic architecture, having been founded in 1344. However, it finally took as long as 600 years,to be finished in 1929 !

Another well-known part of the complexe is Golden Lane (Zlatá ulička).It is a really narrow street with small houses built in the gothic fortification, the 16th century homes of castle riflemen and craftsmen.The entry is paid from 9 to 17 (or only to 16 from November to March) o‘clock daily,before and after for free.
